Ethan Pearl is a designer and workplace expert residing in Seattle, Washington. As a Pacific Northwest native, he draws inspiration from the natural patterns and processes observed while hiking, camping, and climbing across Washington. These observations have led him to a simple conclusion: nature meets its own needs.
Ethan’s bio-mimetic approach aims to solve complex problems with clean and simple product solutions driven by beauty, technical acuity, and empathy. Curiosity about people, about what makes their work fulfilling, and a desire to help them realize their potential supported by design is at the core of this work.
As the Head of Product for Thread, Ethan provides full project design guidance beginning at project conception, through development, prototyping, and manufacturing. His grasp on the strengths and weaknesses of an exhaustive list of manufacturing materials, along with their cost and engineering implications, allows him to advocate for the product vision throughout the pipeline. Working closely with owners and engineering teams, he aligns design visioning with product manufacturing and market practicalities to ensure that the resulting designs are well observed and salable.
